A 600-person consumer study, reproduced in Elaiia.

Blind to the original results, Elaiia reached the same design decisions – in a fraction of the time.

The setup

The same packaging study, run twice.

In 2023, Triumph’s everyday brand Sloggi ran a full quantitative packaging study on its Basic+ pack: 600 women aged 18 to 55 in Germany, all category buyers, each marking which of ten design elements she liked. Three years later we gave the identical task to 83 AI twins on Elaiia – same profile, same pack, same ten elements, but no access to the original results.

Why this matters and how we approach accuracy is covered in our article Fast is the easy part. Right is the question.

Then we put the two panels side by side.

The two panels agree on everything a designer would act on. All ten elements land in the same like tier (top, middle or low) in both panels, with an identical top five: product and material cues lead, while the background, the comfort-seams claim and the heritage badge trail in both. Across all ten elements, twin and human preferences correlate at ρ = 0.90. Where the two differ, they differ on magnitude, not direction – none of the gaps moves an element into a different tier or changes the brief.

Directional validation · Sloggi (Triumph) case

600 real consumers. 83 AI Twins. The same strategic conclusions for the brand.

Sloggi (Triumph) tested the Basic+ packaging with 600 women in Germany, evaluating 10 design elements. We ran the same study with 83 AI Twins matched to the same profile, with no access to the original results: 10 out of 10 elements landed in the same preference tier – with far richer qualitative detail, in 1 day rather than 6 weeks.

PREFERENCE CORRELATION: ρ = 0.90

Scatter plot: share of humans (n = 600) vs. AI twins (n = 83) who liked each of the ten design elements, coloured by tier; points follow the diagonal.

The objection is framed as a capability question. It is not one. Three requirements decide whether a synthetic population can be trusted – and none of them is a modelling problem.
